316L Stainless Steel Threaded Flounder Gig

The Ultimate in Stainless Steel Gig technology!

Barbed gig's are OLD technology. Each one of our prongs has dozens of thread's, each one acting as a small barb. Say goodbye to fish shakeoff's! We are gigging addicts and we have designed our products from our experience.

The holding power of our gigs is ridiculous! Don't Believe Us? Check Out This YouTube Video!:

Here is a pic of J.R. aka "overkill" (forum name) gigging a 35# BLACK DRUM with one of our gigs!!

And his comments:
"The Famous Choppedliver(forum name ) gigs have a lot of holding power as evidenced by gigging the huge Drum. "

And how about this comment by bamafan611 (forum name) about his Titanium threaded gig:
"Used my new choppedliver(forum name) gigg and it worked awesome. The larger fish I just aimed for the middle and held on and the gigg did it's job. Like to have never got the fish off, finally had to stand on it and pull."

And this one also by bamafan611

"Sold on my new gigg and was skeptical at first.Never had a problem like I did last night getting fish off. Even slammed a flounder shaped piece of concrete and didn't even dull the point."

Here is another from "mopbucket" ( forum name ):"I used my Wifes Titanium gig in PSJ and once you stuck the fish they were not coming of the gig until you pulled them off. Chopped(forum name ) sure has a fine product there. "

This gig is made with /16" threaded rod prongs spaced 1 inch apart. Each prong has 3.5 inches of usable length, and the total gig width is about 4.5 inches. Trust us, this is all you need!

This gig is made with 316L Stainless Steel. 316 Stainless is often called "Marine Grade" because it can stand up to the rigor's of salt water better than other forms

Besides the ridiculous holding power of our gigs, they are better than barbed gigs for a couple more reasons.

  • Our gigs can be resharpened many, many times. A barbed gig cannot.
  • When pulling a flounder off the gig, the threads are much easier on your hands than a barb!

Nobody sells a Marine Grade Thread style gig! Nobody sells a Titanium Gig. We are the only ones!

Our gigs are made to be easy to find a handle for them. The most universally available way, and our favorite way, is a common swimming pool accesory handle mated to one of our aluminum adapters. These poles are available at over 10,000 stores. Several companies sell handles with 3/8" threaded holes in the end, and our gigs are made with a 3/8" thread to fit these. Sea Striker and Skinny Water products sell 3/8" threaded gig poles. Various items at hardware stores can also be made to work. Flounder gigging has always been a 'roll your own' sport, but we do make it a little easier

NOTE: This grade of steel is more resistant than other forms, but like most fishing equipment, you should always rinse with fresh water when you are done, before putting it away.
